San Diego Horticultural Society - promotes the enjoyment, art, knowledge and public awareness of horticulture in the San Diego area, while providing the opportunity for education and research. Mingle with rose enthusiasts, nursery owners, palm fanatics and plant breeders. Meetings are on the second Monday of every month, except June, from 6:30pm - 9:00pm in the Satellite Wagering Facility at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Admission is free - all are welcome. Quail Botanical Gardens - located 20 minutes north of San Diego in Encinitas, California, Quail Botanical Gardens features over 35 acres of exhibits, including rare bamboo groves, desert gardens, a tropical rainforest, California native plants, Mediterranean climate landscapes, the Undersea Succulent Garden, Landscaping for Fire Safety and a subtropical fruit garden.
